A fast 200 response is not automatically a match. Maigret preserves the reasons a site could not be classified.
- Maigret and Sherlock-compatible rules are merged and deduplicated.
- Conflicting executed sources fail closed instead of becoming a public-profile lead.

3.1 preview: Yes. It supports lawful open-source research by checking information already exposed on public web pages. It does not access private accounts or bypass authentication.
Can a match identify a person?
3.1 preview: No. A shared username is a lead only. Confirm identity with independent, lawful evidence and the original public source.
Why are some results unknown?
3.1 preview: Sites may rate-limit requests, show a WAF challenge, time out, or change their page. Maigret labels those checks instead of inventing a yes-or-no answer.
What is included for free?

Where does the search run?
3.1 preview: Username checks run from the app against public sites. Product analytics must not contain usernames, result URLs, cookies, or report contents.
